About Strule Dolphins

Strule Dolphins is an amateur, competitive youth swimming club located at Omagh Leisure Complex. The club currently boasts 110 members, with boys and girls aged between 7 and 18 years. As a cross-community organisation, Strule Dolphins is supported by a committee of volunteer parents and a dedicated coaching team, most of whom are also parent volunteers.

Our Story: The Heartbeat of Strule Dolphins

Nestled in the heart of Omagh, Strule Dolphins Swimming Club has been making waves for over two decades. What began as a small group of determined swimmers has grown into a thriving community that champions friendship, effort, and progress, both in and out of the pool.

Through triumphs and trials, our club has stood tall. In 2012, when our pool closed, we didn’t pack away our goggles – we found new water, training in Strabane and Cookstown until Omagh’s pool was rebuilt. It was a defining chapter, showing the grit and spirit that makes Strule Dolphins more than just a swimming club.

From Ulster qualifiers to national championships, PTL league showdowns to Skills Meets, Strule Dolphins swimmers are making waves across the island. Our youngest members start with the basics, while our older athletes push boundaries – driven by grit, guided by passionate coaches, and cheered on by families who never miss a meet.

But medals aren’t the only measure of success here. This club is about something deeper: helping young people find their confidence, build friendships that last, and grow into themselves – at their own pace, in their own way.

Every length in the pool, every roar from the gallery, adds to the story we’re writing together. It’s a story shaped by belief, resilience, teamwork, and in the kind of heart that makes Strule Dolphins not just a club, but a community.
